The single-phase Maharashtra election, which took place on 20 November 2024, is currently in the process of counting votes. The Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), the opposition party, and the ruling Mahayuti Alliance are engaged in a major battle in Maharashtra.
The BJP-led ruling Maha Yuti has gained the lead over the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi in the contest for Maharashtra Assembly Election Results 2024, riding high on populist programs like the Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana. Following few hours of counting, which included both EVMs and postal ballots, the BJP now holds 128 seats, followed by the Shiv Sena, led by Eknath Shinde and the NCP, led by Ajit Pawar.

The majority of 145 votes in the 288-seat Maharashtra Assembly is required for a coalition or party to form a government in the state. By a massive margin of more than 89,000 votes, Shinde defeated Ghadigaonkar Pandurang of the Congress in the Kopri-Pachpakhadi seat in 2019.

Devendra Fadnavis
The Nagpur South-West Assembly seat is also crucial for the elections in Maharashtra. DCM Devendra Fadnavis is now candidate from here. He first appeared in the Maharashtra Assembly as an MLA in 1999, and he has remained there ever since. Fadnavis were elected to the Nagpur West seat in 1999 and 2004. Following delimitation, Fadnavis ran for office from Nagpur, which became the seat of the South-West Assembly, and eventually won an MLA seat.
